The 2nd General Meeting of Association of Ditumabo National High School Alumni was held last Sunday, January 31, 2010 at DNHS Conference Hall. This is in connection to the upcoming Grand Alumni Homecoming on February 27, 2010. Finalization of different activities was discussed first and the group with more or less 100 hundred in attendance has come up with the following updates:
* Motorcade assembly time is 7:00 AM at DNHS compound, will start to move at 8:30AM to take the route Ditumabo-Nonong Sr-San Luis-Zarah-Hiwalayan-BAcong-San Isidro-Bacong-San Jose-San Luis-Nonong Sr-Ditumabo-Diteki-Ditumabo.
*Sportsfest will follow right after the Motorcade with five native and fun games in line.
*Not to be forgotten will be the Alumni Night where all ten grouped batches will have their presentations. The night will also feature the recognition of the former teachers of DBHS/DNHS for their unforgettable contributions to the success of Ditumabians. Lots of surprises will happen as some generous alumni have pledged to make the night memorable and enjoyable.

Next being presented in the meeting was the Slogan and Theme of the celebration. The theme or “paksa” goes “BALIK PAARALAN 2010: Balik-Tanaw sa Pinagsamahan at Pinaghusayan Tungo sa Pag-unlad ng Tahanang Pinanggalingan” (courtesy of Ms. Ma. Criselda T. Arcilla) and the Slogan “D-itumabians N-gayon H-andang S-umulong” (courtesy of ako, hehe!).

Creation of different committees to work for the Grand Reunion was next tackled. Committees formed were Finance, Program/Invitation, Accommodation,and Peace and Order.

The projects which were recently identified and agreed upon during the previous meeting were also discussed for the benefit of the new attendees.

Other matters like the things needed for the preparation and celebration proper were discussed in the open forum after which a “salo-salo” followed with videoke and everybody enjoyed the night.

Hi to all alumni of my beloved alma mater. 1982, ng kami ay magtapos sa kalilipat lamang noon na building ng DBHS. Tanda ko 3rd at 4th Year lang ang maayos ang paaralan, yung mga underclass namin sa kubo lang nag-aaral at twing weekend ay pumupunta kami sa bundok para mag-e kalap at kugon para maggawa ng additional classroom. Pero, tingnan nyo naman, kadami ng nai-produce na magagaling na estudyante ngayon. (Kabilang na tayo dun he he he). Mabuhay ang DNHS, mabuhay tayong lahat!!!

Six years ahead of Batch 84 (our batch) is this dynamic batch of 1978. Still fresh from my memory, batch 78, i can say, is one of the liveliest, if not the liveliest batch of all the classes in the history of DNHS. Why? Well let me gather those memories way back 26 more or less years .. tagal na pala ano?
First, the “Heling and Mulo” duo, for being the local version of Dolphy and Nida Blanca. Wala pang makakahigit sa kanila sa sayang idinulot hindi lang sa barangay ng Ditumabo kundi maging sa bayan ng San Luis at hanggang sa buong lalawigan ng Aurora.

In this batch were my first idols in basketball. Andiyan si Marcelo Bautista, anong panama ni Caidic at Alapag sa 3 points. Andiyan si Leo Leander, ala Kareem Abdul Jabbar hook shot. Andiyan si Reynaldo Leng Subad, na gayang gaya si Abarrientos sa husay at bilis. Di ko rin malilimutan ang Atoy Co ng Ditumabo na si Virgilio De Vera. Even until today we can see them perform well in the game, basta wag lang nila maalala na may rayuma na pala sila.
In the field of academics, this batch was my inspiration, their Class Valedictorian, tahimik pero matinik, Teofila Estrella (now Soriano), the late Manolo Rigor (SLN) was almost as equally brilliant being their Salutatorian. Marami pang pwedeng alalahanin at i-mention sa batch na ito that may serve as inspiration to younger Ditumabians.
Really a dynamic batch! No wonder that until now, when they find time to be reunited, akkaw! ay grabe ang saya, tatlong araw kung tatlong araw ang reunion, kinukulang pa, konting patikim lang ang mga pictures na narito. Saludo talaga ako sa batch na ito, and it made me think na pilitin ko ding ire-unite ang batch namin, THE MIGHTY BATCH 84..watch out hehe!

Bilang Alumni `72  gusto  kung  ipahiwatig  sa lahat  ang aking kaunting  nalalaman tungkol sa DBHS.  Sa magandang loob at kusang loob  ng yumaong si Ginoong Antonio Amazona ay kanyang ipinagamit ang kanyang ilalalim ng tahanan upang gamitin ng mga kaunaunahang mag_aaral ng DBHS.At silay  nag simula sa upuan at sulatan ng sari-sariling  gawa at tulong ng mga magulang at tulong ng Karpenterong ka Andres ng Baryo.

Isang ordinaryong Sabado ng hapon nang ako at ilang mga alumni ng DBHS (now DNHS) ay nagkatipun-tipon sa isang kubo sa compound ng paaralan. Ang pagtitipong ito ay naganap dahil sa pagtugon namin sa patawag na pulong para sa mga alumni association officers upang talakayin ang napagplanuhang Grand Alumni Homecoming sa darating na February 27, 2010. Di kalayuan mula sa aming lugar ay tan-aw ang isang parselang lupa na sakop ng paaralan na natataniman ng humigit kumulang 100 puno ng niyug. Malulusog na mga puno at sa kasalukuyan ay produktibo at napapakinabangan ng paaralan at maging mga taong doon ay di sinasadya o sinasadyang dumaraan.

Isang alumnus ang di nakatiis na pumansin sa niyugan at nagsabi, “Akaw ang gaganda na nitu ay mga tinanim naming niyug!” Agad na may pumutak sa narinig, “Areh ay bakit anong taun ka naggradweyt, magkaiskwela baga tayu?” Kumampi naman agad ang isang babae sa unang nagsalita, “Akaw ang tanda mu naman ng iyan, kami lang ang magkaiskwela, 1978 kami”, sabi nya. Bumubwelo lang pala yung isang mas bata-bata ng kaunti, “Aryo, ay kami ang maytanim niyan at tigdadalwa pa nga kami ng patuboan na dinala nuun, batch 1979 yan de aku magkakamali!”Hindi ko na din kayang pigilan ang aking dila kaya nakisabat na ako, sabi ko, “Ganito yan ay, pwede ngang yung batch 78 ang may tanim dahil nung panahun namin ay malalaki na iyan sila, at kung nakikita nyu iyung may maliliit na mga punung iyun sila, iyun yung mga inihulip namin”.

Dahil sa sinabi kong iyon ay lalong uminit ang balitaktakan ng grupo dahil talagang walang gustong pumayag na hindi sila yong nagtanim. Nasa kasarapan ng kantyawan at pahambugan pa sana kami kaso nagtawag na ang iba naming kasamahan at sisimulan na daw ang meeting.

Kaya nga ang usaping ito tungkol sa niyugan ay nananatiling nakabitin at hindi pa din alam kung sino talaga ang may pasimuno. Oh ano, may alam ba kayo sa bagay na ito?Kung meron, ilahad ninyo ang inyong panig at mas mahusay kung masusuportahan ninyo ng matitibay na ebidensya.
